Raw hair Vs. Virgin Hair

Raw Hair VS. Virgin Hair

What is the difference between raw and virgin hair?

RAW HAIR-

Raw, unprocessed, 100% human hair collected from one donor.  This is hair that has never been altered. Not any form of mechanical or chemical processing. By 100% human hair, we mean collected directly from its donor, washed, conditioned and then sold to the end consumer in the form of clip-ins, wefts, tips, wigs, etc. When you think about unprocessed this means it has not undergone ANY chemical, heat or steam processing.

Raw hair can be high maintenance due to not being treated. It is cut from the donor and will react to elements like real natural hair. Expect the hair to swell and frizz like natural hair. We do suggest a light serum to help.

No two bundles will be identical because not two ppl have the same hair on their head. Expect a slight variation in color and texture. Raw hair is courser than virgin hair. Expect for the hair to not feel as smooth as the virgin hair.

Raw hair is the best purest hair you can buy on the market and the longevity with the proper care is unmatched.

VIRGIN HAIR-

Most hair nowadays, often labeled as “Virgin”, “Remy” “Brazilian Hair” “Malaysian Hair” ”Chinese hair” “Russian Hair” “Peruvian Hair” "Euroasian Hair" is rarely genuine Raw Indian or Remy hair. Nearly 90% of all human hair extensions available in the market is consist of processed hair from China which was imported from India as raw fallen “FLOOR” hair. It may even be mixed with animal or synthetic fibers. Most suppliers use non-remy hair instead of single drawn hair from one donor.

This means they strip the cuticle by soaking the hair in acid, chemically process it for texture, and color it with dyes. They also coat the hair with silicone, which makes it temporarily ‘tangle free' and lustrous, temporarily of course, but the silicone washes off quickly and the hair soon becomes dry, stiff, and matted. The hair becomes damaged and too weak to handle heat styling or color applications, they are left looking synthetic and unnatural, and need to be replaced quickly.

HOW TO CARE FOR RAW HAIR?

Raw hair will need a little more care than virgin hair because of it being untreated. It tends to act like your natural hair on your head.

Here are a few tips to help care for it-

Raw hair loves moisture. We suggest sulfate free products or moisturizing products. Our favorite lines for shampoo and conditioner are Tressemme Rich Moisture, Tressemme Flawless Curls, and Pantene Curl Perfection

-co wash prior to installing

-detangle from ends to roots

-air drying is preferred

-sleep with a satin bonnet

-seek professional help when coloring

-wash and condition weekly

-use a wide tooth comb when detangling

-a light serum is ok to use to help with frizz (Garner Fructise sleek and shine serum)
